Choose success criteria another group could apply
Turn a broad wish into an observable check.
Strongest and best leave too much open unless the test is defined. Translate the model's purpose into an observable condition, then agree how it will be checked before children start comparing their designs.
The bridge must span a stated gap without touching the table beneath it.
Make the test clear before making
Choose a criterion that can be applied consistently. A vague judgement such as strongest needs a defined setup and observation method.
Identify the purpose. Define a test. Agree on a threshold.
Criteria should precede judging.
Could another group apply the check? Demonstrate the test.
