A rough prototype can answer an important question
Explain what a rough model is intended to test.
An undecorated stand may already be useful for testing its support angle. Name that test question so children know why some features are unfinished and which observations should guide the next version.
An undecorated stand can test support angle before surface design.
Judge the prototype by its purpose
Name the uncertainty the prototype addresses. Features unrelated to that question can remain unfinished while useful testing takes place.
Name the test question. Identify unfinished features. Record what was learned.
What question did it answer? Use a labelled photograph.
Rough appearance does not make a prototype useless.
