Set up the station for the whole session, including returns
Make materials, instructions and return locations easy to find.
Instructions and supplies are only part of a self-contained activity. Plan where spare pieces, completed work and unfinished projects go, so the invitation remains understandable after the first group has used it.
To hand: A small tray and labelled supplies.
Plan what happens to spare, completed and unfinished materials. Clear return locations help the activity remain usable throughout the session.
Give materials and work a clear destination
Group necessary materials. Display the task. Mark the return space.
A separate unfinished-work folder supports later continuation.
What happens when materials run out? Use large clear labels.
Station design does not remove the need for educator support.
