A disputed game move may reveal a missing rule
Keep discussion focused on the rule and a shared next step.
Before deciding who is right, check whether the instructions actually settle the question. If they do not, the group needs an agreed continuation and a clearer rule, rather than certainty invented after the disagreement began.
State each interpretation. Check the written rule. Agree on a fair continuation.
Return to the shared text
If the rule is missing, pause to write an agreed version.
Return to the shared rule text where possible. If the rule is genuinely absent, acknowledge the gap instead of declaring one interpretation obvious.
Winning the argument is not the teaching goal.
What information resolves the dispute? Use turn-taking prompts.
