One cultural account speaks from a particular perspective
Distinguish a specific perspective from a claim about everyone.
Keep the creator's name and context attached when summarising. A specific person's account can be valuable without representing everyone in a broad group, and removing the attribution can turn a careful statement into an overgeneralisation.
One person's account describes their perspective.
Preserve who is speaking
Keep attribution attached when summarising the account. Removing the speaker and context can turn a specific statement into an unjustified generalisation.
Read the attribution. Identify its stated scope. Keep that scope in discussion.
Avoid presenting one account as universal.
Who is speaking and about what? Use attribution labels.
