Choose activities

Reading and research

  • Solar System Planet Order — ages 8–12. Read a code-drawn planet-order diagram and distinguish a star, planets and dwarf planets.
  • Moon Phases Learning — ages 8–12. Explore four Moon-phase markers with a labelled schematic and sourced explanations.
  • Planet Research Sheet — ages 8–12. Record sourced facts about a real planet and explain how claims were checked.

Puzzles and matching

  • Planet Fact Matching — ages 8–12. Match eight planets to NASA-sourced facts and check a separate key.
  • Space I Spy — ages 6–12. Count exact code-built objects and check a separate answer key.
  • Space Word Search — ages 8–12. Find checked vocabulary words and use one in a sentence.
  • Space Explorer Maze — ages 6–12. Draw, investigate, discuss or write using clear prompts and generous response spaces.

Design and STEM

  • Design an Imaginary Planet — ages 6–12. Design an original fictional planet or space station and distinguish imagination from science.
  • Standing Rocket Model Challenge — ages 6–12. Build a paper rocket-shaped model and compare its stability without launching it.
  • Design a Space Station — ages 6–12. Design an original fictional planet or space station and distinguish imagination from science.

Writing and reflection

  • Moon Observation Log — ages 8–12. Record six safe observations or source-based Moon-phase entries without inventing missing data.
  • Space Mission Log — ages 8–12. Plan an imaginary space-science mission with an observation question and evidence goal.

Games and group activities

  • Space Teamwork Skills — ages 6–12. Practise accessible observation, communication, planning and teamwork tasks.

Cards and crafts

  • Planet Fact Cards — ages 8–12. Arrange eight source-grounded planet fact cards and explain their order.

Prepare and adapt

Choose a short activity for younger learners or add source comparison and written reasoning for older learners. Read prompts aloud, offer drawing or a scribe and allow passing. History learning should explain people and events through sourced examples; avoid stereotypes, re-enactments of harm or imitation of cultural ceremonies. Fire activities use the local emergency number and adult-approved plans.
