Pack-up Routine Creator
Plan when to begin pack-up, offer practical jobs and print the steps for sorting materials and storing unfinished work.
Choose 1–30 minutes before the activity ends as a reminder to begin. Adjust the routine and time for the actual session.
Write one action per line, up to eight actions per section and 160 characters per action. Leave a section blank if it is not needed. Include at least one action overall.
Edit the example actions, then create the routine.
Plan a clear end to the activity
Replace the example with the actual materials, return containers and storage places in your setting. Enter one action per line in the order it happens. The lead time is a reminder to begin; it does not estimate how long your actions will take. Try the routine and adjust it before reusing it.
Offer practical roles such as carrying a suitable item, sorting reusable pieces, pointing to a return container or adding a label to a tray. For younger children, show one job at a time or pair a word with a familiar picture on the container. Older children can suggest clearer steps or set up a return station with an educator. Leave a way to observe, ask for help or take another role. An adult handles tools, spills or other tasks that require it under your local procedures.
Use the program planner to allow pack-up time in an activity’s timetable. This routine supports the actions in that time; it does not assign children to jobs, assess risks or establish that a space is ready for use.
Keep and print the routine
Choose A4 or US Letter and print or Save as PDF at 100% scale, with browser headers and footers off. Check boxes by hand as actions finish. Long routines continue onto another page with their title, space and column headings repeated. Save a settings file to reload the steps and lead time later. All processing stays in this browser. Use activity and place names, and leave out children’s names or personal details.
