Maths Puzzle Generator

Make arithmetic or missing-number questions within 10, 20 or 100, with space for working and separate worked answers.

Use the same inputs and seed to recreate the questions.

Choose the range and task, then create your printable.

Choose numbers the group can work with

Start within 10 and use counters, drawings or a number line when helpful. Increase the range or try missing-number equations for a different task. The chosen range limits every number in an equation, including its answer. Subtraction answers are never negative. Division has whole-number answers without remainders; multiplication and division use factors up to 12. A small range may not contain 24 different multiplication or division questions; choose fewer questions if prompted.

Children can explain their method to a partner or show it in the working space. The answer sheet gives one method for each question, rather than requiring everyone to use that method. Use a topic as the title and leave out personal information.

Save a PDF or print

Select A4 or US Letter before printing. Choose your printer or Save as PDF, use 100% scale and turn off browser headers and footers. Keep the worked answers separate from the child sheets.
