Grid Drawing Generator
Print an outline picture on a labelled grid and a matching blank grid for copying one square at a time.

Copy one square at a time
Print the reference and blank drawing pages. Children choose a square, look at where the outline enters and leaves it, then draw that section in the same square on the blank grid. Row letters and column numbers help partners discuss a square. Start with the triangle or tree for straight lines; flower, heart and moon include curves. A finer grid breaks the picture into smaller sections rather than automatically making it harder. Children can cover the other squares with scrap paper, take turns with a partner or describe the lines aloud. Add details after copying the outline.
The two full-size grids have equal square sizes. Share a reference page with a small group when suitable and give each child a blank grid.
