Activity Setup Checklist

Write the steps for gathering materials, preparing a space and explaining the activity, then print a checklist to use before the session.

Write one action per line, up to eight actions per section and 160 characters per action. Leave a section blank if it is not needed. Include at least one action overall.

Edit the example actions, then create the checklist.

Prepare an activity in the order you will use it

The example is for a paper bridge test. Replace its materials, space and participation steps with your own actions. Include quantities in the action where they matter, such as putting six pairs of scissors on the table. Keep each line to one action so it can be checked separately on the printed sheet. Repeated actions are kept and numbered in the order entered.

Use the program planner for a timetable, consolidated materials list or shopping quantities. This checklist records your preparation actions; it does not calculate equipment or decide whether a session is safe. Use your service’s procedures and judgement for supervision, space and equipment.

Keep and print the checklist

Select A4 or US Letter, then print or choose Save as PDF. Use 100% scale and turn off browser headers and footers. Longer checklists continue onto another page with the title and column headings repeated. The boxes are blank for checking by hand. Save a settings file to edit the actions later; loading a file keeps the printable disabled until you create it again. All processing stays in this browser. Use activity and place names, and leave out children’s names or personal details.
