An I-spy search can be systematic without being timed
Use a repeatable search pattern to reduce missed areas.
A row-by-row or region-by-region scan helps a learner track which areas have been checked. Marking progress makes the task easier to pause and resume, with completeness taking precedence over finding things fastest.
To hand: An I-spy sheet.
Choose a scanning direction. Mark completed regions. Recheck totals.
Save the search position
Scanning one row at a time differs from jumping between familiar pictures.
Record searched regions so the process can pause and resume. The strategy aims at completeness rather than performance under a time limit.
Which areas remain unchecked? Cover unused parts of the page.
The task need not be timed.
