A food chain needs checked feeding relationships
Use an authoritative species account before drawing feeding relationships.
A habitat picture is not evidence that every animal eats every other organism pictured. Choose one verified local example, read the feeding information and label exactly what the arrows in the classroom diagram mean.
To hand: A checked local natural-history source.
- Identify organisms.
- Confirm feeding relationships.
- Label arrow meaning.
Verify each link separately
Confirm each feeding relationship individually. A general habitat picture does not show that every organism feeds on every other organism pictured.
Arrows labelled 'food energy moves to' prevent confusion about direction.
Do not invent diets from appearance. What source supports each relationship?
Start with one verified link.
