Build the stand for the card it must actually hold
Match the support to the actual display task.
A small test card can hide problems that appear with the intended display. Keep the real lightweight card beside the brief and use it to check fit, readability and stability during the design process.
Measure the card. Sketch support options. Test readability and stability.
A low front lip can stop the display card sliding.
Test the intended user of the stand
Test with the actual lightweight display card. A stand working with a small sample may not support the intended card's dimensions.
Decoration does not establish stability.
Can the intended card be read? Provide a pre-folded starter.
